I Love giving back to our community. There are is many incredible people, organizations and businesses in Ladera Ranch and the surrounding cities, and every year I like to do as much as possible to help support them in their work and mission. There are 3 ways people can help, Time, Talent and Treasure. Many just donate their treasure (aka money) but I find it more powerful and rewarding to donate my time and talent as well. Keep reading to see what we have done over the past year.
None of these opportunities to give back would have been possible without all of my wonderful clients. Thank you for your support, and for trusting me with all your home needs over the last few years.
LADERA RANCH SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONS
In 2023 we donated back to local schools like Oso Grande and Ladera Ranch Middle School. We were one of the Oso Grande Jog-a-thon sponsors helping them raise funds to pay for many school activities such as field trips, front office staff, assemblies, fun Fridays and so much more. Not only a financial contribution but the time spent helping out in person at the school. This is my second year on the PTA board at Oso Grande. I am helping out the Laura Ranch Middle School PTA this year and hope to be on the board next year.
CHARITIES
We teamed up with Anvil Real Estate to host 2 blood drives through the American Red Cross. Each event had 2 trucks and donation slots will filled up. The Red Cross became important to me when my mom ended up in the hospital in a different state and in a very small town. They had to fly in platelets for her almost on a daily basis for a week so she wouldn't die. Ever since then, I have seen the importance of donating blood when you can. We will be doing this event again next year as well.
We are big dog people and so is Anvil. They are an extension of the family and we never forget our four legged friends that need adopting. Promise for Paws is a local organization dedicated to rescuing homeless animals, rehabilitating and finding them permanent loving homes. They provide the highest standards of veterinary care and place them in nurturing foster homes until they are adopted.
Through the gift of a new toy or book, Marine Toys for Tots programs bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s disadvantaged children. To date, they distributed 652 million toys to 291 million deserving children. A portion of each commission check gets set aside to purchase toys for our toy drive In December.
If you know my family at all, you know my boys are big into playing baseball. My husband has coached little league for 7 years now. Im not a coach but I love volunteering I the snack shack and running pitch count for the bigger teams. We are also a league sponsor. This year I am also on the little league board of directors.
Sticking with the baseball theme, We also work with PIFBS to collect used gear that is then distributed world wide to under privileged kids and leagues. This has been a project for the past few years and we look forward to continuing it n the years to come.
At Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County they envision an Orange County with food and nutritional security for all. In collaboration with their partners, they provide dignified, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food, creating a foundation for community health. Teaming up again with Anvil Real Estate, we collect food items that are needed for the food bank and deliver them just before thanksgiving.
Cub Scout Pack 689 has served Ladera Ranch and the surrounding area Elementary Schools since 2002. We bring scouting activities to the Ladera Ranch area in a fun and inclusive way. My middle son went through the ranks of Pack 689 and now my youngest is going through them as well. My husband and I both volunteer for the pack. He serves as the Pack Charter Chairman and I run the fundraiser for the pack. The month of October we run our one fundraiser for the year selling popcorn and year over year have been coming in 2nd for the district, 9th in the County, and 908 in the nation.
OTHER
Our remaining donations were distributed to other types of organizations in the community including, teacher funding, school events, local sports leagues and other Orange County charities.
