Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo, A Tradition of Gratitude and Community
Every year on March 4, our team celebrates Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo. It is one of the most meaningful traditions we take part in all year. This day is dedicated to thanking the people who serve our community every day, including the Sheriff’s Department, firefighters, and Emergency Room staff.
At its core, Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo is simple. We show up with food, gratitude, and time. We visit the people who work long shifts, respond in emergencies, and care for others when it matters most. It is not a large public event or a campaign. It is a personal way to say thank you.
For me, this day is especially meaningful. Giving back has always been part of my life. Growing up, volunteering was a normal part of how we lived. You help where you can. You show appreciation. You stay connected to the community around you. That mindset has stayed with me, and it is a big reason why Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo is one of my favorite days of the year.
How We Celebrate Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo on March 4
Each stop on Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo is a chance to connect with the people who help keep our community safe, supported, and cared for. From breakfast to dinner, every visit is intentional.

Breakfast at the Mission Viejo Sheriff Station
We start the morning at the local sheriff station in Mission Viejo. This year, we brought breakfast burritos and donuts for the deputies on duty.
It may seem like a small gesture, but these moments matter. Taking time to stop by in person and thank the deputies face to face sets the tone for the day. They do so much for the community, often without fanfare, and it is important to make space for appreciation.

Lunch for Emergency Room Staff and Child Life Specialists
For lunch, we delivered Domino’s pizza to the Emergency Room staff. This year, we also included the Child Life Specialists in the children’s department.

That addition meant a lot. Emergency Room teams work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. They care for patients and families during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Child Life Specialists bring another level of support by helping children and families feel more at ease during difficult situations. Including them in Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo felt important and well deserved.

Dinner at Fire Station 24
We ended the day at the new Fire Station 24 on Marguerite, where we brought Panini Kabob Grill for the firefighters on duty that evening.
This stop was a highlight. The firefighters gave us a tour of the new facility, and we even got to see the makeshift pickleball court they have set up in the engine bay. It was such a fun and unexpected detail. It also gave us a chance to connect with them beyond the meal and say thank you in person.

Why Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo Matters
Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo is about more than delivering food. It is about recognizing the people who consistently show up for others. The deputies, firefighters, ER staff, and Child Life Specialists we visit all serve in different ways, but they share a common thread. They are there for people on hard days, urgent days, and life-changing days.
That kind of service deserves appreciation.
This tradition also reflects what I value most about being part of this community. I believe real connection matters. I believe giving back matters. I believe the strongest communities are built by people who care about one another and take the time to show it ( Ladera Ranch Food Drive ).
That is why days like this stay with me. They are a reminder that gratitude does not have to be complicated. Sometimes it looks like breakfast burritos, pizza, dinner, a quick conversation, and a sincere thank you.

A Community Tradition We Look Forward to Every Year
Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo has become one of the most meaningful traditions our company takes part in each year. It is a day centered on gratitude, service, and community, and it reflects the values we want to live out all year long.
To the Mission Viejo Sheriff’s Department, the Emergency Room staff, the Child Life Specialists, and the firefighters at Fire Station 24, thank you. Thank you for your service, your care, and your commitment to this community.
We are grateful for you every day, and especially on Local Hero’s Day Mission Viejo.
